Try to do a little simple shopping and came home grumpy. I was too tired to be out and about hence the excessive grumpiness now. Excessive eating at the holiday work luncheon made me all the more tired; never mind eating for two, think I ate enough for a party of 5 (at least 3 plus.) So thanks to some guidance I knew what to get and after stopping at my sister's was off the the locale that had both places in close proximity. Unfortunately though I knew where to go, my order of operations was off -- not all the stores have holiday hours in effect just yet and I missed one of the places by a matter of minutes, I was so mad when I called the store from the parking lot of the other to be told that they closed eight minutes ago. Oh well, maybe I'll take a long lunch tomorrow and go to the other store then, sigh.
I had a gift I ordered for hubby delivered to my sister's. That part of the evening was good. It was good to see my niece; she's getting big, almost 5 mos. old now. Since sis is home with the baby she was able to sign for a package for me; most of the time we'll have packages delivered to hubby's office, but couldn't do that with something for him. So it worked out good seeing my lil niece and checking out and wrapping the gift while there. But I felt frustrated when I got it home cuz tho I've been prone to scroogieness at times in the past with decorating for the holidays never being too big of a deal it just ain't right to have a present without a tree to put it under. Now that we've begun to rearrange the place for the spring arrival there's no place for a tree really. But I'm frustrated that my bin of holiday stuff is inaccessible in the garage (if only I'd put it in the basement) because at least in there I've got a lil 12" tree that could be placed on top of anything, the tv, bookcase, etc.; also, and including on top of a gift. Oh well. We're not entirely undecorated here though, got a couple of small polar bears with red hats on and a holiday candle on top of the tv in the back room and taped the cards to the wall at the top of the stairs; ho, ho, ho.
